MEXICO — A local man was injured Saturday when he went head first over the handlebars of his ATV as it hit an embankment at his home on Backkingdom Road, police Chief Roy Hodsdon said Monday.
Matthew Burgess, 50, was taken to Rumford Hospital, Hodsdon said.
Police responded to a report of an ATV accident at 4:31 p.m. Saturday.
“It appears that he was riding his ATV in his driveway and hit an adjacent embankment,” Hodsdon said. “He ended up flipping head first over the handlebars, while his ATV rolled over and landed next to him.”
The ATV had minimal damage, Hodsdon said.
