FARMINGTON — A New Sharon teen was indicted by a Franklin County grand jury Monday, accused of going into a Wilton home and stealing more than $50,000 in cash and jewelry.

Brian J. Durrell, 18, was arrested on felony charges of burglary and theft in May by Wilton police.

A juvenile from Farmington has since been arrested for his involvement, police Chief Heidi Wilcox previously said. Charges for the juvenile were pending when they arrested Durrell.

Owners of a Wilton home reported the loss April 30 after returning from vacation.

Police checked a local jewelry store and discovered some of the items were brought there and sold by the teens. The rest of the jewelry was pawned and sold in Bangor. The teens received about $1,000 for what they sold.

At the time of Durrell’s arrest, police had recovered about $10,000 worth of jewelry, Wilcox said.

If convicted, Durrell could face up to 10 years in prison.
