I live on the outskirts of Lewiston and, therefore, am one of the last to receive service from the city for such things as snow plowing, street sweeping, etc.
About seven weeks ago, I called the city to get a time frame about street sweeping and was told (in a not very nice way) that it would happen in a few weeks. A few weeks later, the street was cleaned.
I fully understand the economic impact that has taken place in the past few years and can accept that it takes time. That brings me to this issue: What was a street sweeper doing on my street at 11 p.m., just a few weeks after the streets had been cleaned?
That was a total waste of tax dollars.
My father always said, “It’s easy to spend other people’s money.”
Fix the roads before they are beyond repair.
