BRIDGTON — Join Loon Echo Land Trust for an Acoustic Sunset on Hacker’s Hill from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24.
Acoustic folk band Bold Riley will perform a one and a half hour set of music on top of Hacker’s Hill while the sun sets beyond the White Mountains.
Hailing from the hills of western Maine, Bold Riley comprises four friends with an affinity for folk music, both traditional and contemporary. John Gunn lends his rhythmic prowess on the clawhammer banjo, cajon and bodhran while Michael Hayashida wails on fiddle and vocals. Erin Sampson hits the harmonies while Julia Edwards sings lead and provides many a boom-chuck on guitar and accordion.
Playing a wide range of music from Americana classics and originals to acoustic takes on modern folk music, the group shares a joy for life that they bring to their music and their audiences.
There is a $10 per person ($5 for children) suggested donation at the “door” to benefit the stewardship of Hacker’s Hill. Bring a picnic and a lawn chair. Parking is available at the top of the hill and the open area allows for comfortable walking with wonderful views of the Lakes Region and White Mountains.
Music begins at 7 p.m. and will conclude as the sunsets at 8:30 p.m. In the event of rain, this event will be held on July 25 at the same time.
