Poetry at Rumford Library

RUMFORD — Fourth Thursday poetry will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the Rumford Public Library.

Area youth football sign-ups

MEXICO — Area youth football sign-ups and equipment handout will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, July 30-31, at the Mexico Recreation Center.

The program is open to grades 2-8 in the RSU 10 District.

Cost is $35 for a returning player; $70 for a new player, with jersey.

No team requests will be taken.

A meeting for parents and players in grades 2-6 will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Mountain Valley Middle School. The draft will follow at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting for parents and middle school players will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7. Equipment will be handed out following the meeting.

Bethel Senior Citizens plan picnic

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet for their picnic at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Stony Brook Camping Area in Hanover.

Hamburgers and hot dogs will be furnished. Members should bring either a salad or dessert to share.
