RANGELEY — In celebration of its 20th year, Rangeley Health & Wellness has been granted a $20,000 challenge grant. For every dollar raised in the community it will be matched dollar for dollar up to a maximum of $20,000.

This opportunity will enable RHW to continue and enhance the many programs and services it currently provides to the community: physicals and immunizations for children, after-school kids’ programs including Children in Action and Fit Kidz; Functional Fitness for Seniors; flu shot clinics; sports specific training for athletes; summer camps; and occupational therapy programs for children in need. These programs are all provided at no charge or at significantly reduced costs.

A medical needs program is available to patients of Rangeley Family Medicine to help defer the cost of necessary medical testing that individuals might not have ability to pay for.

Scholarships are available for graduating seniors.

Fitness membership rates are structured to make the use of the facility affordable for all with even greater reduced rates for students on the honor role at RLRS and to seniors. A free fitness and nutrition assessment is also available to all who visit the fitness center.

Each contribution, no matter how small, will help meet this challenge. Organizers hope to capture a large percentage of local participation, so they ask that when you send in your contribution, indicate how many family members the contribution will support. Contributions can be sent to RHW, PO Box 722, Rangeley ME 04970.
