Registrations are now open for the annual Pedal the Penobscot bicycle ride.

The ride, which will be held Sept. 7, is used by many riders to pursue a higher personal riding goal. It is fully-supported with relatively flat terrain, and you ca choose from 14, 28, 50, 76 and 100 mile routes that travel along the beautiful Penobscot River beginning and ending at the Bangor waterfront. All rides travel through sections of local roads.

Proceeds from the ride benefit Bangor Land Trust, which works to secure local land for public access, to conserve wildlife habitat, and to maintain recreational trails.

Riders will receive an annual membership to Bangor Land Trust, will be treated to a post-ride celebration at the Sea Dog Brewery and Restaurant, and will be entered to win great prizes. The first 150 to register receive a commemorative shirt. Riders under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Team members (five or more riders) will receive a discount when pre-registering.
