LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine has announced the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors: Heidi Audet, Andrea Breau, Mara King and Leigh Weisenburger.

Heidi Audet is the co-owner/operator of Chill Yoga on Lisbon Street and an independent yoga instructor at Bates College and numerous adult education programs. Audet volunteers at Tree Street Youth leading yoga classes throughout the school year and during the summer months.

She is an advanced Ayurvedic yoga specialist, having recently graduated from the Himalayan Institute’s AYS Torchbearer program and recently hired as an adjunct faculty member at the Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pa.

Andrea Breau, a Lewiston native, graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in women, gender and sexuality studies. She attended Ohio State University where she earned a master’s degree in women’s studies and completed her candidacy and course work for her Ph.D. in women’s, gender and sexuality studies. Breau has worked extensively on women’s issues and recently served as the director of the Gender and Sexual Diversity Program and associate director of the Pugh Multicultural Center at Colby College.

Mara King, a graduate of The University of Maine School of Law, is an associate attorney at Andrucki & Associates in Lewiston representing clients in family matters. Prior to attending law school, King served as a youth advocate at New Beginnings. She has also worked at Pine Tree Legal and the State of Maine Child Services. King is a founding member of the Maine Alliance for Drug Treatment Courts and served on the Justice for Children Task Force.

Leigh Weisenburger is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Mass. For the past 10 years, Weisenburger has worked at Bates College, where she currently serves as its dean of admissions and financial aid. She speaks fluent French and is an avid sportswoman enjoying backpacking, cycling, skiing and ice fishing.
