CHESTERVILLE — A Skowhegan man likely died instantly Friday when a branch fell and struck him as he was working alone in the woods, Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said.
He said the logging accident was reported at about 3:25 p.m. by an acquaintance who found the body of Seymour Charles, 54.
Evidence at the scene indicated he died instantly, Nichols said.
