RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial with Military Honors for George Arthur Scott Sr. of Mexico was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford, with the Rev. Alfred Jacques as celebrant. Altar Assistant was Joe Gorham. Organist was Faye Hill. Music selections included “Amazing Grace,” “On Eagle’s Wings” and “How Great Thou Art.” The Readings from the Old and New Testament were pronounced by granddaughters, Regina Moulton and Tammy Bernard. Eulogy and words of remembrance were given by his son, James Scott. The gifts were presented by great-granddaughters, Nicole Bernard and Celeste Dickey. Pall bearers were grandsons Peter Scott, George Scott III, Troy Scott, Donald Gilks, Albert Pomerleau Jr. and Richard Blackman. Military Honors were presented by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program from Augusta. Interment will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. A reception followed at the Parish Hall of the Church and served by the Daughters of Isabella. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., P.O. Box 537, Rumford, ME 04276.
