FARMINGTON — A Farmington woman suffered only minor injuries after her vehicle was struck from behind as she attempted a left turn on Wilton Road on Wednesday.
Allison Pond, 28, was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by a NorthStar ambulance, Farmington police officer Michael Lyman said.
Pond was driving a black 1999 Jeep Cherokee east on Wilton Road (Routes 2 and 4) shortly after 3 p.m., when she stopped to make a left turn to Franklin Somerset Credit Union.
A 1992 Jeep Wrangler driven by Maxwell Wright, 16, of Weld didn’t stop in time and rear-ended Pond’s vehicle.
“It was a big bang, like a bomb went off,” Mike Davis said. Davis was in the bank parking lot and heard but did not see the collision.
After impact, Pond’s vehicle drifted, ending up on the curb in front of Portland Glass.
No charges were made in the accident, Lyman said.
Both vehicles were total losses. Pond’s was hauled by Farmington Towing and Wright’s by Collins Wrecker.
Members of Farmington Fire and Rescue helped clear the scene and direct traffic.
