1923 – 2014

LEWISTON — Marie R. Goding, 90, of Auburn, passed into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, July 30, at d’Youville Pavilion, following a short illness.

Born in Lewiston, on Oct. 30, 1923, she was the daughter of Antoine and Marie-Ange Lacasse Doyon. She was a member of the ACA Club in Lewiston as well as the Auburn Senior Citizens. She attended several local churches.

Educated in Lewiston public schools, she was the proud mother of nine children, three boys and six girls. She loved raising her children, cooking, traveling, reading her Bible, sewing, caring for her numerous plants and visiting with family and friends. She was also very fond of animals and birds.

She is survived by eight children, Roger and wife, Jacqueline Goding, of Florida, James of Auburn and Thomas and wife, Nancy, of Mauldin, S.C., and five daughters, Shirley Marchette of Donna, Texas, Joyce and husband, Darryl Heath, of Auburn, Doris and husband, Gary Beardsley, of Albany, N.Y., Diane and husband, Paul Delsignore, of Turner and Sharon and husband, Mark Morin, of Greene; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roger, in 2005; and a daughter, Jane Marie, in 1992.
