POLAND — The winners of the annual Bruce M. Whittier Scholarship were recently announced, with two Poland Regional High School seniors each receiving a $1,000 award. They were selected for their academic performance, work ethics and commitment to their community.
Jessica Alden, daughter of John and Maryse Alden of Mechanic Falls, will attend the University of New England.
Caitlyn Currie, daughter of Marc and Brenda Currie of Mechanic Falls, will attend the University of Maine.
The scholarship will be available annually to high school seniors graduating from Poland Regional High School on an application basis.
