SCARBOROUGH — The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter has announced the following upcoming Early Stage Social Engagement Programs for the week of Aug. 4. Advance registration for all programs is required.

Games and Lunch will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 6. There will be lts of laughs and fun playing classic board games, followed by a lunch for all game players.

Outdoors Club – Baxter Woods Walk will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7. Enjoy a casual nature walk within Baxter Woods, a premier outdoors sanctuary featuring towering pine trees, river views and quiet, shaded trails in the heart of Portland.

The Maine Chapter’s Early Stage Social Engagement Program is open to those living with early stage Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias and their care partners. The program encourages these individuals to “get out, get active and get connected” by engaging in quality, compelling and fun activities.

The focus of the program is to make the most of the time available to those living with dementia.
