FARMINGTON — Police said a local woman was charged with drunken driving after her car hit a parked van on Perham Street on Wednesday afternoon and she kept driving with one tire missing.

Kristen Cousineau, 36, was arrested near her home on Perham Street and charged with driving under the influence, Farmington police officer Michael Lyman said. She was taken to Franklin County Detention Center and released later on $3,000 unsecured bail.

Cousineau was traveling into town on Perham Street at approximately 3 p.m. when her 2009 Volvo hit the 1978 Dodge van parked in front of the home of its owners, Albert and Rachel McDaniel.

“We were home and heard a loud crash,” Albert McDaniel said at the scene.

The crash pushed the van up onto the curbing, damaged the driver’s side, flattened tires and ruptured the gas tank.

Cousineau’s car lost a right front tire and bumper, according to Lyman’s report.

Witnesses told police that after the van was hit, Cousineau continued driving down Perham Street, onto High Street, Court Street, North Street and back to Perham Street, Lyman said. She stopped in the street before reaching her residence, he said.

She was not injured, he said.

Both vehicles were towed due to disabling damage.

Members of Farmington Fire and Rescue cleaned up the gasoline.
