I am very disappointed and embarrassed to find that Auburn’s recycling is now 8.5 percent, when it used to be 20 percent (Sun Journal, July 27).

What happened? Because recycling went to twice a month? That’s a lame excuse.

People should mark their calendars. Then, when there are items to discard, they are either going into recycling or the trash. How difficult is that?

People can do better. And that would help the environment and help the city with a little revenue. It’s a win-win situation.

With a little effort, we can make it work.
