LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women announces Sonia Turgeon has joined the staff as a staff assistant.

She will focus on volunteer support and assist with program and office needs. The part-time position is funded for the first year by a grant from the Daughters of Wisdom, the order of nuns that started the Center in 1999.

Turgeon grew up in Lewiston and later lived in Auburn. She graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a bachelor of science degree. She was employed by L.L. Bean for approximately 10 years and for Unum for 15 years.

Her interests include a 5-month-old puppy, gardening, watercolors, reading and exercise. She has volunteered for the Big Brother Big Sister program and the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Falmouth.

She resides in Gray with her husband, the puppy and two cats.
