PORTLAND — The Maine Lottery announced on Thursday afternoon that a winning Megabucks ticket for the Wednesday drawing was sold at a Portland grocery store.

Someone who shopped at the Shaw’s Westgate Supermarket on Congress Street has a lottery ticket worth $1.1 million, the lottery office announced, and the store that sold the lucky slip will get an $11,000 bonus for the transaction.

A representative of the Maine Lottery told the Bangor Daily News late Thursday afternoon that, thus far, nobody has come forward to claim the winnings.

This is the third Megabucks jackpot winner sold in Maine in the past six months, after a $3 million winning ticket sold in Madawaska in February and a $3.1 million winner sold in Brewer last month.

Megabucks tickets are sold at more than 1,250 stores in the state, the lottery stated in its Thursday afternoon announcement.
