SCARBOROUGH — The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter has announced the following upcoming Early Stage Social Engagement Programs. Advance registration for all programs is required.

* Social Programs: Exploring Childhood with the Ogunquit Museum of American Art —  On Aug. 13, museum educator Amy Donovan will lead a fascinating program inspiring participants to recall childhood memories through their own works of art.

* Social Programs: Hamilton House Tour — Participants will enjoy a tour one of the most classic historical structures in the Berwick region, the Hamilton House, on Aug. 15. The mansion also boasts one of the most scenic vistas with its view of the Salmon Falls River. Cost is $6 per person.

* Discovery Days Series: Kennebunkport Conservation Trust — On Aug. 20, Leia Lowery of the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust will present a slide show highlighting the Trust’s wonderful properties, as well as their mission to preserve open space in the Kennebunks. Juice and doughnuts will be served.

* Outdoors Club: Blueberry Picking at Libby and Son U-Pick Farm — On Aug. 21, Participants will enjoy classic blueberry picking on a summer day. Golf carts will be available for transport to choice blueberry patches.

The Maine Chapter’s Early Stage Social Engagement Program is open to those living with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias and their care partners. The program encourages these individuals to “get out, get active and get connected” by engaging in quality, compelling and fun activities.

The focus of the program is to make the most of the time available to those living with dementia.
