1929 – 2014

AUBURN — Roger N. Roderick, 85, of Norway, passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born on June 7, 1929, in Oxford, a son of Matilda Frye. He attended local schools, graduating from Oxford High School in 1946.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Roger served his country in World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He worked at Robinson Mfg. for over 20 years and also owned and operated the Sears Catalog store in South Paris for several years.

Roger was a member of the Kora Shrine, past commander of the Oxford American Legion, past master of the Oxford Masonic Lodge and Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He also served two years in the Maine House of Representatives in Augusta.

He leaves his wife of over 65 years, Jeanette (Pratt) Roderick of Norway; a son, Barry Roderick and his wife, Denise, of Orlando, Fla.; granddaughter, Brittany Roderick of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Robert Roderick and his wife, Maryann; niece, Peggy Staley and her husband, Frank; nephew, Steven Roderick and his wife, Sandra; sister-in-law, Patricia Frye; nephew, William Frye Jr.; and niece, Pamela Lovely and her husband, Kurt.
