Quilt makers and quilt lovers are invited to explore and enjoy the western Maine mountains,
foothills, and lakes region during the height of Fall Foliage Season, visiting each of the six quilt
shops participating in the 2014 Autumn Splendor Quilt Shop Hop.
Featuring historic covered bridges, rivers and streams, amazing scenic vistas and breathtaking
views on the Scenic Byways, the loop from one quilt shop to the next offers a wide variety of
seasonal activity and enjoyment. There are hiking and walking trails, quiet waters to kayak or
canoe, golf courses, picnic areas, inspiring photographic scenery and much more along the way.
The water cascading down the rocks at Smalls Falls and Screw Auger Falls are sights to behold
year-round and come alive with the reds, golds, and oranges of Autumn. Each location has
events and venues that celebrate this most beautiful of seasons in Maine.
This year’s participating shops are: Pins & Needles in Farmington, Threads Galore Quilt Shop in
Rangeley, North Woods Quilting in Wilsons Mills, The Quilt Shop at The Rostay in Bethel,
Kedar Quilts in Waterford and Oxford Mill End Store in Oxford. Each of the shops will be open
9 AM until 5 PM, Monday through Saturday and 11 AM until 4 PM on Sunday during the shop
hop dates of September 23rd through October 5th.
At each quilt shop, hoppers will get their passport stamped, enter the in-store drawings and
receive a free pattern. Completed passports will be entered in the grand drawing for gift
certificates from each shop and there will be goodies and door prizes offered along the way.
