1941 – 2014
RUMFORD — Donald R. Touchette, 73, died Friday, Aug. 15, at his home on Pine Street, Rumford, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Roxbury on March 2, 1941, the son of Lewis and Emma (Noble) Touchette, and had attended schools in Roxbury and Rumford.
For many years, he was a mill worker at the J.A. Thurston Dowel Mill in Rumford until retirement.
He was formerly a member of Walton Lodge No. 142 Knights of Pythias in Mexico. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Donald was married in Rumford on Feb. 18, 1961, to the former Eleanor Mae Howe of Rumford, who survives him. Other survivors include four daughters, Natalie “Lana” Reed and husband, Skip, of Mexico, April Arsenault and companion, Mark McCarn, of Sanford and Donna and Crystal Touchette of Rumford; five sons, Donald Touchette Jr. and wife, Karen, of Rumford, William Treadwell and wife, Jan, of Brunswick, Darryl Touchette and companion, Denise Feliciano, of Oakland, Craig Touchette and wife, Sue, of Westbrook, and Scott Touchette of Rumford; four sisters, Linda White of Mexico, Kathy Talbot of Turner, Rosanna Seigle of Rumford, and Gloria Hamel of Roxbury; four brothers, Michael, David, and Gordon of Roxbury, and Robert Touchette of Holliston, Mass.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and several siblings.
