LEWISTON — Daniel Jenkins, Ph.D., a faculty member at University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College, was honored recently as the recipient of the 2014 Association of Leadership Educators Rising Star Award. The award was presented this summer in San Antonio, Texas, at the 2014 association conference.

The award is presented to a member who demonstrates a significant contribution of leadership and service in the association and beyond. According to his nominators, professor Jenkins’ most endearing quality is his passion for his work. He is the project lead for Leadership Education Academy and has served as editor for several leadership journals. Jenkins was also a member of several of the planning committees for the conference.

Professor Jenkins joined the University of Southern Maine faculty in 2012. Prior to USM, he was the program coordinator and co-director of the Leadership Studies Academic Minor Program at the University of South Florida. He teaches courses primarily in leadership and organizational theory, as well as others in the leadership and organizational studies program and common core.
