1940 – 2014

LEWISTON — Constance P. Plourde, 74, of Western Promenade in Auburn, died on Monday, Aug. 18, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side.

Born in Lewiston on Jan. 27, 1940, a daughter of the late Alfred and Jeanne Pelletier Sasseville, she was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from St. Dominic High School in the Class of 1958.

Connie was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and worked at Philip Elmet and Columbia Market, prior to becoming a homemaker.

She enjoyed day trips with her family, hockey — particularly her beloved Boston Bruins — and spending time with her family. Connie will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, her love of animals and her generous spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Raynold J. Plourde, of Auburn, whom she married on Sept. 1, 1962; two daughters, Christine Plourde-Rand and husband, Aaron, of Auburn and Lisa Mathieu of Auburn; her son, Shawn Plourde, of New York City, N.Y.; grandchildren, Abbie, Molly and Nevin Rand; her sister, Claudette Verville, of Augusta; and a sister-in-law, Constance Albert.

She was also predeceased by a brother, Reginald Sasseville.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary’s intensive care unit for the exceptional care and support they provided to her during her short illness.
