ORONO – The Orono Code Enforement office is reminding property owners again that rental registration fees are due by the end of the month.
Recently the Code Enforcement Office sent out letters and application forms to all property owners who own rental property within the Town of Orono. The letter asked that all rental units be registered on the appropriate form and include the rental fee of $25 per unit. Those rental registrations are due by September 1.
If you have not sent in your appliction forms and the required fees for your rental units, please do so now. If you no longer own a property that is rented out, please let the town know that as well so officials can correct them records.
If you need another application form, you can download them from the town website. The Code Enforcement Office needs an application form for each property location that is rented out.
Under town ordinance, the fee for properties not registered by September 1 doubles, to $50.
