1946 – 2014

LEWISTON — Paulette C. Shanahan, 68, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family following a short illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Jan. 16, 1946, a daughter of the late Romeo and Jeanne (Veilleux) Roy, and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She was employed as a social worker for the Department of Human Services for many years, until her retirement.

Paulette enjoyed cooking, playing cribbage, doing crossword puzzles, singing and dancing, loved animals and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Edward Flannery, of Lewiston; two daughters, Maureen Tardif of Gray and Patricia Dillingham of Auburn; two sisters, Sonia Ginther of East Hartford, Conn., and Jeannette Verrill of Daytona, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Bethany and Ronnie Flannery, Tucker and Blaise Tardif, Danny Flannery, Tanner Dillingham, Rachel Flannery and Eryn Dillingham; and several nieces and nephews.
