Horseshoe tournament on tap

FARMINGTON — The eighth annual Donn Barker Memorial Horseshoe Tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Farmington Elks Lodge, School Street.

Registration fee is $10 a person. Sign-up will start at 10 a.m. with team drawings at 10:30 a.m. The games will start at 11 a.m. Lunch will be catered.

T-shirts will be available for purchase and there will be a 50/50 raffle.

Yard/bake sale has tables available

CARTHAGE — The Carthage Historical Society will sponsor a yard and bake sale starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. There will be baked beans, biscuits and pies.

As space permits, anyone wishing to set up a table is welcome to do so at no charge. There will be a 50/50 raffle. Call 562-7762 to make arrangements for a table.
