Grange will hold yard sale

BETHEL — A yard sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 30 and 31, at the Alder River Grange, 1895 Intervale Road.

Church to host buffet breakfast

HARRISON — A buffet breakfast will be held at the United Parish-Congregational Church of Harrison and North Bridgton, 77 Main St., from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. 

The menu will include coffee and tea, scrambled eggs, sausage, pancakes, home fries, fresh fruit, juice, homemade muffins and coffee cake. There is no set charge for the breakfast but donations are welcome. Proceeds help the needy in the community.

Bethel Senior Citizens to meet

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Funky Red Barn.

Menu choices are fish or prime rib. Cost is $13. Reservations must be made before Sept. 1 by calling Arlene Lowell at 824-2877.

Lewiston Bridge Club winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners at the Lewiston Armory on Aug. 18 were as follows: first in A & B, Nancy Farmer and Richard Balian; second, Susan and Andre L’Heureux; third, second in B, Connie and Ron Reynolds; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; first in C, Claire Lyons and Della Starbird; second in C, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe.

Winners of the North American Pairs qualifying game on Aug. 19 were: first, Paul Clement and Rosemarie Goodwin; second, first in B & C, Georgette Jewell and Patricia Soule; third, second in B, Della Starbird and Roger Labbe; fourth, third in B, Nancy Lindgren and David Lock; fifth, Susan and Andre L’Heureux; fourth/fifth tie in B, Jeanine Kivus and Leslie Lord with Dick Allen and Luke Merry.

The game had players from Alexandria, Va., Bethel, Oxford, Bridgton, Windham, New Gloucester, Sabattus, Lisbon Falls, Greene, Jay, Waterford, Lewiston and Auburn.

Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is guaranteed and all bridge players are welcome. Call Rosemarie at 754-1431 for more information.
