BETHEL — Veteran players and newcomers alike are invited to join the fun as the Senior College Players course resumes this fall. Ross Timberlake and Lorrie Hoeh, co-class facilitators, said there will be three plays in this fall’s production.
Complete information on the fall plays will be available at the Senior College Players table at the Western Mountains Senior College (WMSC) annual meeting to be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3, beginning at 5 p.m.
Anyone in the community with an interest in theater is invited to learn more about the Players during the registration period from 5 to 5:30. Hoeh will be available to answer questions.
She reminds nonmembers that WMSC has a long-standing policy that invites nonmembers to take their first class free before becoming a member.
Timberlake said, “We will continue the tradition of providing instruction in acting, directing and stage craft by ‘just doing it’.”
He added that the Players, in keeping with Senior Theater practice across the country, are not required to memorize scripts and may carry them on stage. They may accept a role as an actor, stage crew member or director.
All that is required is a desire to become involved and enjoy working with others to produce a fun and memorable night of local theater. He said, “We will welcome the participation of interested community members to this lively group of actors, actresses and production team members.”
Weekly rehearsals will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays, beginning Sept. 8, at the Congregational Church, Church Street, until Nov. 10. Dress rehearsals will take place the following week on Nov. 18 and 19 at the Gould Academy McLaughlin Hall Trustees/Auditorium.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22, at the Trustees Auditorium.
