Society to host ice cream social

STRATTON — The Dead River Area Historical Society will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31. An Ice Cream Social will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. with brownie a la mode served by volunteers. Charlie Bruce will entertain with songs and will take requests.

Everyone is welcome.

The Dead River Area Historical Society is open every weekend throughout July and August and by advance appointment year-round. For more information, call 246-2271.

Leeds student named to honor roll

WORCESTER, Mass. —  Worcester Academy announces that Cora Curtis of Leeds has been named to the final honor roll for the school year. The honor represents the achievements each student has earned through academic excellence, challenge and personal growth.
