JAY — A vehicle did approximately $500 in damage to the grass parking area behind the outfield fence at the town’s baseball field on Stone Street, acting police Chief Richard Caton IV said Thursday.
Larry Wright, the town’s building and grounds maintenance worker, reported the damage Tuesday.
A vehicle did a so-called “doughnut” on the grassy area and left approximately 3-inch ruts and tore up the sod, Caton said.
The damage happened between Aug. 18, when Wright had last been at the field, and Tuesday.
The baseball field was not damaged.
