Recently, I experienced one of the most enjoyable times of my life. I got to see and hear, in person, the Blackwood Brothers perform.
I had been told how wonderful they are, but there are no words in my vocabulary to express what I heard that evening or the feelings that I felt while listening to their words. It was pure beauty.
The only disappointment of the evening was the empty seats in the auditorium at the Mountain Valley Middle School. It was embarrassing. There were a few local pastors there, but some were conspicuously absent.
How very sad for the River Valley area.
A very good friend of mine put in many, many hours, and spent much of his own funds to get that group to Rumford. I felt that I had to go to support my friend’s effort (not knowing that it was truly an experience that I will remember forever).
It might be a very long time before this area gets another chance to experience (for free, no less) such beautiful voices and words.
Kudos to all who helped make it happen.
