1948 – 2014
LIVERMORE — Richard R. Godbout, 65, a resident of Hathaway Hill Road in Livermore, died suddenly on Thursday night, Aug. 28, at his home.
He was born in Augusta on Sept. 26, 1948, a son of Emile and Emilienne (Gosselin) Godbout. Richard went to school at St. Augustine and Augusta schools. Following school, Richard joined the U.S. Marines. On Nov. 19, 1991, in Wilton, he married Roberta (Morehouse) Duell of Jay.
Richard worked as a security guard for International Paper Co., the Androscoggin Mill and Verso Paper in Jay; he retired in 2011.
He loved traveling; some of his favorite places to go were Old Orchard Beach and Mount Washington. He was also an avid Yankees fan, and enjoyed NASCAR and collecting classic cars.
Richard is survived by his wife of 23 years, Roberta Godbout, of Livermore; his son, Michael Godbout, of Livermore; his stepdaughter, Lynn Duell-Davis and companion, Kevin Russell, of Bakers Mills, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Amy, Corey, Jacob, Courtney and Brittney; his brother, Gerard Godbout and his wife, Rita, of Augusta; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
