AUBURN — Under whirling helicopter blades, golf balls dropped over a target at Central Maine Medical Center’s fourth annual Arbor House Helicopter Ball Drop. The fundraiser, hosted by the CMMC Associates Volunteer Program, raised nearly $13,000.

Raffle tickets representing numbered golf balls were sold and  dropped onto a target. Ticket levels were $100 for a chance in 50 to win $2,000; $50 for a chance in 100 to win $1,500; $20 for a chance in 400 to win $1,000; and $10 for a chance in 700 to win $500.

The winners were Ed Buschmann of Lewiston, $2,000; Melanie Blynn of Stow, $1,500; Jim and Jean Tyler of Rumford, $1,000; and Ryan Pomerleau of Lewiston, $500. Two of the winners were previously guests of the Arbor House.

More than 120 guests had hors d’oeuvres served by the staff of Martindale Country Club. A social time highlighted an art show/sale hosted by the CMMC Woman’s Hospital Association. Featured artists were Claudia Diller, Portland; Irene Duplissis, Auburn; Bruce Habowski, Waterville; Dianne Hooper, Auburn; Scott Hunter, Turner; Oana Lauric, Kennebunkport; and Melanie Ness, Auburn.

The CMMC Arbor House – at no cost to guests – is a place to call “home” while individuals and families struggle with hospitalization.
