Boosters scramble, pig roast

DIXFIELD — The 10th annual Dirigo Athletics Boosters Golf Scramble & Pig Roast will take place on Sunday, Sept. 7, at Oakdale Country Club.

Riding team sponsors are $200, walking team sponsors are $140, tee sponsors are $35 and new this year student or athlete sponsor for $10.

The 18-hole, four-ball scramble will get underway with an 8 a.m. registration, 9 a.m. shotgun start followed by a pig roast luncheon with all the fixings at 1:30 p.m. The awards presentation will be immediately following luncheon.

Organizers are looking for teams of four to compete. This event also features a $10,000 hole-in-one contest, longest drive, closest to line, awards for top gross and net teams, closest to pin and a Chinese auction.

Show your support for area athletes and have a little competitive fun.

Rolling Dozen to begin bowling

RUMFORD — The Rolling Dozen will begin bowling at 9 a.m. Monday Sept. 8, at Oxford Lanes.

Daughters of Isabella to meet

RUMFORD — St. Timothy’s Circle No. 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Holy Savior Church Hall.

Chairpersons are Dot Benedix and Margaret Elliot.

Also on the committee are Barbara Clark, Janette Blouin and Sylvia Touchette.
