1924 – 2014

MILLINOCKET — Charlotte Ducharme Francoeur of Millinocket and Lewiston was received into her Heavenly reward on Thursday, Aug. 28, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Lewiston on March 2, 1924, the daughter of Edwin and Bernadette LaPointe Ducharme.

On Nov. 30, 1946, Charlotte married Felix Francoeur, the love of her life. Felix died in 1987, but his memory never faded from her everyday life. She shared stories with her great-grandchildren that allowed them to feel as if they had known “Pepere” personally.

She delighted in being mom to her children, Cecile Francoeur Martin and Richard Francoeur. Charlotte was a loving, generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her quiet and kind nature endeared her to all who shared in her life. She delighted in family gatherings, where she presented meals and delicacies she knew her family enjoyed. She made each and every person in her family circle feel cherished, “to the moon and back.”

In recent years, Charlotte resided in Millinocket, where she was cared for by her daughter, Cecile, and her special son-in-law, Claude Martin.

Besides her children, Richard and spouse, Beth, and Cecile and spouse, Claude, Charlotte leaves behind three grandchildren: Melanie Brown and her children, Christopher and Gabrielle; Matthew Martin and sweet Sophie, the granddog; and Patrick Francoeur and spouse, Rose Ann, and their son, Douglas. She also leaves her brothers, O’Neil Ducharme of Florida and Richard Ducharme of Auburn; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was predeceased by her spouse; her parents; and five siblings, Jackie D. Ellery, Tony Ducharme, Gaston Ducharme, Henry Ducharme and Maurice Ducharme. Charlotte also was predeceased by a very special daughter-in-law, Sue Francouer; and her dear friend and sister-in-law, Christine Ducharme.

Charlotte’s life was expressed through kindness, generosity and humbleness. She was loved by us in this life and we look forward to our reunion in the next.
