The World War I cannon in Union Park in Livermore Falls is on a new 14-foot by 8-foot, 6-inch cement slab, veteran Don Simoneau of Fayette said Thursday. The plaque indicating its origin was put in the base. Livermore Falls Town Manager Kristal Flagg thanked Tim Fournier of East Livermore and Livermore Concrete Foundations LLC and representatives, Jason Gibbs and Zach Blaisdell, Tuesday during a selectmen meeting. Simoneau also thanked the businesses Thursday that contributed materials or equipment for the project. There is a campaign to raise $6,000 to buy new wheels and repair the cannon, and buy 120 American flags to replace aging flags on Main Street in Livermore Falls and Jay.
