The Republican and Democratic parties have failed Maine, again.

Neither Republican Paul LePage nor Congressman Mike Michaud has agreed to timely debates with independent Eliot Cutler to discuss their visions for Maine’s future.

That is a disservice to the Maine people and continues to demonstrate that both parties put their own special interests ahead of the people of Maine.

Clearly both parties want to keep their distance from Cutler. Unlike their candidates, Cutler is a genuine, thoughtful and pragmatic leader, unbought by special interest money. Cutler’s record of success in government and the private sector is impressive. His plans for Maine’s future are detailed and attainable. A debate would display how inadequate both major party candidates are in comparison.

People can do the right thing for Maine by voting their hopes and not their fears by making Eliot Cutler Maine’s  next independent governor.
