PARIS — Planning Board members this week will review a business owner’s application for three signs.
A preliminary agenda released for Tuesday night’s meeting indicates the five-member board could consider granting official status to Josh Tice’s trio of businesses on Main Street. They are Perfect Touch, L/A Luxury Limousine and Harris Brothers Rubbish Removal.
The limousine service, car detail and trash removal businesses were the subject of controversy last month, when Tice erected a large sign displaying the names of all three before receiving approval from the board.
The move incurred the attention of selectmen, who voted to fine the business. Paris’ Sign Ordinance grants the board discretionary power to penalize violators.
At the time, selectmen said the habit of allowing businesses to skirt local laws had become a practice that needed to be stopped.
Tice later objected, arguing the ruling was unfair after believing he had received approval from town officials to put up the signs first and receive approval afterward.
The board will also hear a proposal from CN Brown Co. to install a large, new propane tank near its offices.
