Being a city councilor is a tough job, since every action and word is scrutinized. City Councilor Nate Libby shines through as a fierce advocate for Lewiston, having passed a municipal budget for 2013 that did not increase the property tax rate while maintaining city services, despite serious cuts from the federal and state governments.
Libby was also successful allocating more money for acquisition and demolition of condemned buildings — removing blight from the downtown neighborhoods — and securing funding for an additional code enforcement officer to alleviate code violations in many downtown apartment buildings.
That is why I will support Nate Libby as state senator on Election Day. Lewiston needs someone with a track record who has proven passion for this city, for quality of life and job creation.
