1946 – 2014

AUBURN — Raymond R. Hebert, 68, of Auburn, died Sunday, Sept. 7, at Clover Health Care after a long illness, with family by his side.

Raymond was born in Auburn on Jan. 28, 1946, to Wally and Rose Laprise Hebert. He worked for over 25 years at Pathways, retiring in 2009. He especially liked working on the chip line, ladder mitts and box assembly, and all the wonderful trips and activities with the Pathway staff.

Raymond married Marie E. Gurschick on Nov. 24, 1979, and they lived for many years on Linwood Avenue in Auburn, with his loving mother, Rose, and their beloved dog, Sandy. In 1999, they moved to Clover Living Center, where they both resided for the past 15 years.

Ray enjoyed many bus trips. He and Marie would go on them with his mom and later with Marie’s sisters, Colleen and Abby, to Foxwoods Casino and Portland; to Boston with his nephew, Stephen, and his wife, Krissy; and island cruising with his nephew, Scott, and his wife, Samantha.

Ray loved being at gatherings at Marie’s family camp on Little Wilson Pond in Turner, eating out and going to the movies. Ray loved watching all his little nieces and nephews play. He loved watching TV and drinking Diet Pepsi and coffee. He was always Marie’s protector and taught her many things, from going to night school to shopping for bargains.
