HARRISON — The fall youth soccer program in Harrison “kicked off” last Saturday and throughout the SAD 17 district with a few Harrison teams playing at home at the RADR Sports Complex. Harrison 5th/6th grade Team A, coached by Lloyd Robinson with assistant Will Frank, challenged Bethel at 9 a.m. Despite the high heat and humidity, both teams played with focus and determination.
Next week this team remains at home against Paris B.
At 10:45 the Harrison 3rd/4th grade Team A, coached by Jess and Mike DiBiase, took on Bethel A and at 11:40 played against Bethel B. Next week this team travels to Hebron.
Harrison 5th/6th Team B traveled to Waterford; however, this game will be rescheduled. The 3rd/4th grade Harrison Team B traveled to Hebron and had fun playing against Norway A and then a second game with Norway B.
Harrison grade 1st/2nd traveled to the Oxford Athletic Fields and faced Waterford for a fun two games back to back.
Games continue next Saturday through Saturday, Oct. 18, except Sept. 27 due to the homecoming parade when youth soccer players are asked to march in the parade and will walk onto the field with football players and get in the game for free.
The district-wide soccer awards ceremony will take place at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School auditorium at 6 p.m. Awards will be given to a coach and teams at each level for excellent sportsmanship. Light refreshments will be provided.
