WILTON — Members of the Wilton Fish & Game Association will home in on their shooting skills at the Annual Fun Family Field Day which is being held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. The event is open to the public, young and old.

During the day there will be several events taking place. Trap will be offered with many new twists with the shooting approach to the clay pigeons. This is a great opportunity for first-time shooters to learn the safe handling of firearms and to shoot and break the pigeons. Outdoorsmen and women will be able to refresh their skills after not shooting for a period of time. Contact Charlie with any questions at 645-4867.

The 3 Gun Challenge will be set up for those interested in changing positions while shooting. Each shooter will receive 22 rounds for a cost of $10. The shooting gallery will be offered in the Conex Box, with on-site shooting instructors at a cost of 10 rounds for $5 or 20 rounds for $8.

A range officer will be on the grounds throughout the day. Members of the Fish & Game and Youth Shooting League are looking forward to sharing their knowledge of firearm safety and instruction in the proper  way to shoot.

The WF&G Youth League will be serving lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as a fundraiser for their programs. Lunch will include baked beans, hot dogs, cole slaw, corn bread, apple pie and ice cream for a fee of $8 per adult, $5 for ages 12 and under.

The WF&G Association is proud to announce that the Youth League placed first with a $50 prize in the Blueberry Festival Parade with a float to promote healthy lifestyles. The name of the float was 5210, representing five or more fruits and vegetables, two hours or less recreational screen time, one hour or more of physical activity and zero sugary drinks, more water and low-fat milk.
