1949 – 2014

SABATTUS — Larry J. Ouellette, 65, of Sabattus died Wednesday, Sept. 10, at his home. He was the husband of the late Fabiola (Bouchard) Ouellette, who died in 1997.

Larry was born in Guerette on Sept. 7, 1949, a son of the late Walter Ouellette and Rena (Dionne) Ouellette of Auburn. He grew up in Guerette, attending local schools and graduated from Fort Kent High School. After high school, Larry went on to obtain his Automotive Service Excellence Certificate from what is now Central Maine Community College.

He met and married Fabiola prior to joining the U.S. Army, where he served his country as part of the 101st Airborne Division during Vietnam. Upon returning from his tour of duty, Larry went to work for Giant Advance, which is now the Lee Auto Mall, where he worked as an automotive technician for 28 years before retiring due to illness in 1998.

He was a member of the VFW in Auburn and enjoyed spending his spare time fishing, hunting and antiquing.

Besides his mother, Larry is survived by his two sons, Jerry R. Ouellette and his wife, Marie, of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Troy L. Ouellette of Sabattus. He also leaves three granddaughters, Alexis, Autumn and Julieanne; a brother, Daniel Ouellette and his wife, Debbie, of Lisbon; a sister, Louise Blanchette and her husband, Claude, of Auburn; as well as several nieces and nephews.
