1949 – 2014

GREENWOOD — John Albert Buck, 64, of Greenwood passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 12, at home with his loving family at his side.

John was born in Rumford on Sept. 20, 1949, the son of Albert and Norma (Bean) Buck and was a 1968 graduate of Gould Academy. John also earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. For most of his career, John worked at Bancroft Contracting Corp., where he was a superintendent.

He married Deborah St. Pierre on Sept. 22, 2012.

An avid fly fisherman, John enjoyed tying flies and fishing at Horseshoe Pond in Greenville. He also loved riding his motorcycle, driving his corvette, gardening, camping, picnics and trips to Eastport. For a few years, John also was a ski Instructor at Sunday River Ski Area.

He had lived in Greenwood for five years, moving there from Bethel.

John is predeceased by his father; and a sister, Nancy Buck.

Surviving are his wife of Greenwood; three daughters, Grace Gendron of Poland, Rebecca Buck of Mechanic Falls and Coral Buck of Oxford; two sons, Eric Buck of Houston, Texas, and Ian Buck of Navarre, Fla.; two sisters, Debra and husband, Jeff, of Colorado Spring, Colo., and Linda Chin of Lewiston; and eight grandchildren.
