1962 – 2014

AUBURN — Melissa A. Atkinson, 52, of Howes Corner Road, North Turner, died Thursday, June 5, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice after a long illness.

She was born in Fitchburg, Mass., on April 28, 1962, a daughter of the late Robert and Phyllis (Caron) Atkinson. She was educated in schools in Massachusetts and Washington state before graduating from Leavitt High School.

Missy enjoyed her cat, Tootsie, going shopping, doing her nails and laying out in the sun. She also loved spending time with her nephew, Shawn Atkinson. Her shepherds and new pup will miss this special member of the pack. Friends and acquaintances alike will miss her sweet-natured ways.

She leaves two sisters, Suzan Atkinson-Havery and husband, Scot, of Massachusetts, and Jane Atkinson and her fiancé, Gregory Leifester, of North Turner; a brother, Scott Atkinson and wife, Loreen of Washington; and her special nephew, Shawn Atkinson of Maine.
