1925 – 2014

LEWISTON — Gerard J. Morin, 89, of Lewiston, passed through the valley of the shadow of death on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in Auburn on March 23, 1925, he was a son of the late Arsene and Odile (Michaud) Morin. Gerard attended Lewiston schools and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during World War II. Following the war, he worked at Philips Elmet as a presser. Gerard was also employed by the Lisbon School Department.

Following his retirement in 1986, he enjoyed working part-time jobs and doing what he enjoyed most — playing cards, especially Pinochle. He was a member of South Lewiston Baptist Church.

Gerard is survived by two sons, Daniel Morin and his wife, Cecile, of Hiddenite, N.C., and Richard Morin and his wife, Corliss, of Burleson, Texas; his longtime companion, Suzanne Manahan, of Lewiston; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Fernand, Lucienne, Bella, Rose and Vivian.
