I am writing concerning a letter from Thomas Shields (Sept. 14). I would add a big “amen” to his statements concerning the accomplishments of Gov. Paul LePage.

Gov. LePage has done a lot for the state. Some people do not like the governor but I do like him, despite his detractors and what some newspapers write.

Voters should base their decisions on their own judgment, not on party loyalty.

President Obama is incompetent and not up to the job he was elected to do.
