As an attorney representing workers every day, I don’t see how any Maine worker can support Gov. Paul LePage after what he has done the past four years.
Since he took office, his focus has been almost entirely on attacking workers.
He removed a mural depicting the history of Maine’s workers from the Department of Labor, claiming it was not “pro-business.”
He passed a bill stripping the Workers’ Compensation Act of benefits, despite the fact that insurance companies were reporting profits.
He attacked state employees, calling them corrupt, lacking integrity and lazy.
He bullied unemployment appeals officers by accusing them of deciding too many times in favor of workers.
He vetoed a bill to increase Maine’s minimum wage.
He continuously fights against workers’ rights to organize.
Given those facts, I don’t see how anyone could support someone who has no interest in serving the working people of Maine.
