1942 – 2014

AUBURN — Constance “Connie” R. Verreault, 71, of West Waterman Road in Auburn, died Sunday, Sept. 21, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 20, 1942, a daughter of the late Elforest and Fredalena (Gagnon) Bassett. She was educated in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1961. Later in life, she graduated from Husson College in 1995.

Connie married her true love, Thomas Verreault Sr., on May 28, 1966, and together they raised three children. After raising her family, she worked for the IRS as a revenue agent. She was a member of St. Philips Church and the Oasis Ladies Group associated with the Lewiston Bretheran Church.

Connie was an avid quilter. She enjoyed photography, cooking and being with her six grandchildren. Her family was everything to her. She will be missed for her barbecue sauce, pineapple cream cake and silk flower arrangements.

She leaves her husband of 48 years, retired Senior Master Sgt. Thomas Verreault Sr., USAF, of Auburn; her three children, Thomas Verreault Jr. and his wife, Elenice Rabelo, of Boston, Mass., Jennifer H. Verreault, Spc., U.S. Army Reserve, of Auburn and Capt. Timothy G. Verreault, U.S. Army, and wife, Jessica, of Fort Drum, N.Y.; two sisters, Catherine Roy of Little Falls, N.Y., and Jean Rouillard and husband, Richard, of Auburn; her six grandchildren, Sgt. Diego Rabelo, U.S. Army (E-2), Samantha Leeman, U.S. Navy, Sarah Leeman, Rachel Verreault, Rabecca Verreault and Helena Verreault; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her birth parents, Lionel and Helen Gaudette.
